About Us
Jess Steed (she/her) is an occupational therapist who has worked in the mental health field for more than 17 years. Jess holds a Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience, a Master of Occupational Therapy Practice and a Diploma of Community Services - Alcohol, other drugs and mental health.
Jess began her career working with autistic children and has spent the majority of her career in the Victorian public adult mental health field providing a variety of 1:1, group therapy and case management services for adults across residential, sub-acute, community and outreach settings. She has also provided group therapy for people with chronic pain conditions and supervision to occupational therapy students and colleagues.
Jess enjoys working with people with a wide range of mental health needs including those with lived experiences of:
depression
anxiety disorders, including post traumatic stress disorder
substance use disorders
personality disorders
psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder
bipolar affective disorder
intellectual disability
difficulties arising from stress and adjusting to a change in circumstances
thoughts of suicide and non-suicidal self injury
Jess also works with autistic and ADHDer adults
Jess is committed to providing high quality, trauma-informed, individualised and evidence-based services. She is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia, registered with the Allied Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and regularly engages in professional development activities.
